Erin Armstrong, soprano
Lyric soprano, Erin Armstrong, native to Windsor/Essex County, is known for her ability to captivate an audience with her warm, rich voice, dynamic stage presence and for her constant community driven performances and creative initiatives.
This season began with Erin as Fiordiligi with Abridged Opera’s production of Cosi fan tutte, as Margherita in Boito’s Mefistofele and as mother to stage son, Will Trigo Ebere in a production of Amahl and the Night Visitors. She is delighted to join forces with such wonderful singers this evening and excited for her 4th Wall Music debut!
Last season saw Erin as Mrs. Andrews in her debut role with Winsor Light Music Theatre’s production of Mary Poppins, Mimi in La Boheme with Toronto’s Opera By Request, a soloist in Diva Drama with the Windsor Community Orchestra, the mother in Amahl and the Night Visitors with No Strings Theatre, the soprano soloist in Richard Einhorn’s Voices of Light with the Windsor Symphony Orchestra and with the Langsford Men’s Chorus spring concerts.
She is the founder and director of Music Moves Kids (www.musicmoveskids.com) studio, summer camp and children’s choir. Their performance credits include: The Tenors PBS Broadcast recording, the Canadian premier of Jakobin, by Dvorak, Boito’s Mephistofele, La Boheme with the Windsor Symphony Orchestra and upcoming this spring and summer, the MMK Studio will perform the children’s opera Brundibar at the Edinburgh Fringe. Erin’s passion for creation has seen many accomplishments in the past few years. She spearheaded and sang the title role in an opera collaboration with the University of Windsor and Walkerville Centre for the Creative Arts in a production of Suor Angelica, began Windsor’s first opera professional opera company, Abridged Opera with colleague Jackie Robitaille, conducts the award-winning, Windsor Community Choir, stage directed La Boheme with the WSO and recently joined the 4th Wall Music team as President of the Board.
Erin is an alumni of Calgary Opera’s Emerging Artist Program and a graduate of the Universities of Windsor and British Columbia. Her opera credits include, Violetta in La Traviata, High Priestess in Aida, La Contessa in La nozze di Figaro, Ortlinde in Die Walkure, Giulietta in I Capuletti ed I Montecchi, Beth in Little Women, Juliette in Romeo et Juliette, Alice Ford in Falstaff, Rosalinda in Die Fledermaus and Donna Anna in Don Giovanni.
